Overall it’s a fantastic experience for both the players as well as (and especially) the designer. Feedback, including any design flaws that might of been uncovered during play are very important for designer in tuning their game. Unpub events provide opportunities for board game designers to see their yet unpublished games play tested in public, and board gamers to play up and (hopefully) coming games.Īs a play tester, you have the opportunity to play new games in the process of being published, while providing feedback to the designer as what you did/didn’t like about the game. If you are not familiar with the unpub conventions and mini-events (like the one I attended this weekend), You should definitely check them out.
